ADMISSION AND ENROLLMENT PROCESS

A)     Reservation

1.      New Pupil

OICSF accepts reservation of new pupils/ transferees as early as January for the next school year.  To qualify for reservation, an applicant must be able to comply the necessary credentials as well as age requirement for Toddler, Nursery, Kindergarten and Preparatory. Grade
I – Grade VI applicants must be able to meet the required grade of not less than 80% of his academic subjects and a grade in Character Education of at lest 80%.

Reservation paid to OICSF is deductible from the total school fees.  However, if one decides to withdraw his reservation, reservation fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.  All reservations must be confirmed before April 15.  Failure to confirm before April 15 will cause forfeiture of the reservation and hence, the reserved slot will be given to another pupil

2.      Old Pupil

An old pupil is automatically giver a slot the next school year.  To confirm one’s desire to enroll for the next school year, reservation forms are distributed and filed at the principal’s office. Re-registration of old pupil for the next school year should be made not later than the date specified on the monthly calendar.  No pupils will be permitted to begin the new school year unless all financial obligations on the previous school year have been satisfied.

B)     Admission Procedures

  1. Incoming Pupils/Transferees (Regular Applicants)

1.1        Toddler/Nursery/Kindergarten/Preparatory Applicants

1.1.1       Age Requirements

Toddler                   3 – 3 ˝ years old

Nursery                   4 – 4 ˝ years old

Kindergarten            4 ˝ – 5 ˝ years old

Preparatory       5 ˝ – 6 years old

1.1.2       Credentials

Toddler, Nursery, Kindergarten and Preparatory applicants are required to submit the following:

·         Birth Certificate

·         Duly accomplished application form

·         Must have passed the entrance exams and interview

1.2        Grade Requirement

Grade I – V applicant must have a minimum over-all average of 80% in the academic subjects.

1.2.1       Conduct

All applicants must have a minimum conduct grade of 80% or its equivalent for the school year immediately preceding the filing of application for admission.

1.2.2       Credentials

·         Birth Certificate

·         Duly accomplished application form

·         Report card signed by the Principal of the last school attended

·         Certificate of Good Moral Character from any of the following: Principal, Guidance Counselor, Class Adviser.

1.2.3    Entrance Examination / Interview

To be admitted to the OICSF Elementary Department, Grades I to VI applicants aside from complying with the grade requirements must pass the entrance test and interview administered by the school.

  1. Transferees from Abroad

2.1  Alien students aside from complying with the requirements for regular applicants are required to submit the following:

2.1.1       ACR – Alien Certificate of Registration

2.1.2       Dep-Ed Study Permit and Grade Placement

C)     FOR PUPILS GRANTED PROBATIONARY STATUS

A pupil recommended for re-admission under probationary status shall be considered for re-enrollment provided that the said pupil has to appear together with his/her parents before the principal to discuss the pupil’s previous problems.  The pupil shall sign a pledge.  This pledge will be attested to by the parents.  He shall promise to cooperate and follow the policies and requirements the school has set in order to improve his academic standing and/or conduct rating for the incoming year.  “Probationary Status” is granted to pupils from Grade I – VI

The administration reserves the right to dismiss a probationer who fails to give evidence of earnestness of purpose and active cooperation in the requirements of the school.
